Bologna sign Sunderland midfielder

Bologna have secured the services of Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini on the final day of the Italian transfer window.

The Italian leaves England after a troubled time on Tyneside, having left Juventus for the Black Cats in 2013.

Bologna’s Official twitter announced the deal, with Giaccherini joining on a season long loan.

The 30-year-old spent two years at the Bianconeri before his Sunderland move, where he managed only 32 appearances and four goals in an injury plagued 2014-15 Premier League season.
