Napoli midfielder Jonathan De Guzman looks set to be on his way to Sunderland.
The Dutchman had looked close to a move to French side Marseille due to being unwanted by the Partenopei’s new coach Maurizio Sarri but now it appears he is off to the Premier League.
According to Sky Sport Italia, De Guzman has suddenly changed his mind and is now close to a move to the Premier League with the Black Cats.
The deal is thought to be an initial one year loan with an option to purchase the Dutch international outright for around €5 million.
It’s not yet known if Dutch coach Dick Advocaat had anything to do De Guzman changing his mind.
The former Villarreal midfielder has already had a spell in the Premier League with Swansea.
