Napoli midfielder Jonathan De Guzman is close to leaving Italy and joining English side Sunderland.
The Dutchman had looked close to a move to French side Marseille due to being unwanted by the Partenopei’s new coach Maurizio Sarri but now it appears he is off to the Premier League.
As reported by GianlucaDiMarzio.com, Sunderland are set to sign De Guzman on an initial loan deal.
As part of the loan deal Sunderland will have to sign De Guzman at the end of the season for €5 million.
It is now up to De Guzman to decide if he wants to join Sunderland and has 48 hours to make his mind up.
The former Villarreal midfielder has already had a spell in the Premier League with Swansea City.
