After beating Frosinone at the weekend, Bologna will be aiming for their second win of the season when they travel to face Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Serie A on Wednesday evening.

The win over their fellow Serie A newcomers gave the Rossoblu their first three points of the season having been beaten by Lazio, Sassuolo and Sampdoria in their opening three fixtures.

Anthony Mounier scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory that keeps Bologna out of the relegation zone at this early stage and leaves Frosinone rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table as the only team yet to obtain a single point this season.

Fiorentina meanwhile defeated the other newly promoted team, Carpi, in their previous game to push themselves into third place in the table with three wins from four games.

Khouma Babacar’s second goal of the season gave his side a 1-0 win away to the Biancorossi and helped the side build upon their recent victories over AC Milan and Genoa.

Not only will the Viola go into Wednesday’s game as favourites but they also hold the historical advantage over their opponents.

In 26 previous meetings the hosts have secured ten victories while Bologna have won just five.

The last two games between the sides came in the 2013-14 season and both ended in 3-0 wins for Fiorentina.

Viola coach Paulo Sousa will be without Montenegrin Marko Bakic and recent loan signing Jakub Blaszczykowski through injury.

On the other hand Bologna coach Delio Rossi has injury concerns over a number of players including Ghanian midfielder Godfred Donsah and on-loan winger Emanuele Giaccherini.
