Lazio are still uncertain how long Dutch defender Stefan De Vrij will be sidelined through injury.
The 23-year-old picked up a knee injury whilst on international duty during the Netherlands’ defeat to Turkey, but the Biancocelesti are still unable to put a time-scale on De Vrij’s expected return to fitness.
“De Vrij is improving but the inflammatory syndrome still isn’t resolved,” Lazio’s orthopedic consultant Stefano Lovati told the Rome edition of the Corriere della Sera.
“We will know something more within the next seven to 10 days when we can get a better picture of when he can return playing.
“The situation is quite delicate and we’ll have to monitor it on a daily basis, but for the moment we’re unable to set a date for his complete recovery.”
Lazio travel to Ukraine to face last season’s Europa League finalists Dnipro in the group stages of this season’s competition on Thursday.
