Jonathan de Guzman is not sure what the future holds for him at Napoli, according to his agent who also believes a move to Marseille would have been a better option for his client.
The 27-year-old has found himself outside of new Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans for the new season and had looked set for a move to French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, however the move fell through after Marcelo Bielsa left the club, leaving de Guzman in limbo.
“He [de Guzman] is currently living in a negative manner due to him not being considered by the coach,” Fabio Parisi told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“Obviously, I don’t know if he will stay at Napoli.
“It is only right that we continue to look around and find the best option for both him and the club.
“Marseille was a good opportunity [for him], but then Bielsa’s departure changed things.
“The club had confirmed in their interest in De Guzman, however the new coach [Michel] has made other plans.”
