Despite suffering defeat to Juventus in their opening Champions League match, Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini believed that his was the better side at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

However, the veteran tactician did praise Bianconeri goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon after the 37-year-old made a number of first class saves to deny the Premier League club.

“We will hope to turn the tables in Turin,” Pellegrini told Mediaset Premium.

“Tonight we faced an extraordinary Buffon.

“Despite the defeat, we dominated until a strange Juventus goal. We kept the ball more than them and created more chances.”

The 61-year-old remained positive that his team will progress from Group D, but admitted that Giorgio Chiellini’s own goal should have been disallowed after a foul by Vincent Kompany.

“Yes, our goal was probably illegal,” admitted Pellegrini. “It looks clear that it should have been ruled out.

“Even last year we started with a defeat, but then we still qualified.”

He needs to go to specsavers, even the english commentators said all game that juve were by far the better team.

I’m super proud of juve who are still getting used to all the changes, we had 6 different people to last Saturdays game.I’m also very pleased with allegri who really grew a pair last night and started his best unit in a daring formation and it clearly paid off.

We went to Manchester, faced off against the current best team in England, with 0 goals conceded so far and 5 wins in a row who also on paper have a team that rivals barca, real, psg, bayern and chelsea and we controlled most of the game and were nearly never really in trouble.Buffon did make a couple of saves true but it would be daft to expect to go to manchester to play city in the UCL and not expect a couple of shots on target, isn’t it. At the end of the day this game should have actually ended 2-0.

Hopefully this will have woken up the sleeping giant. FORZA JUVE !!

What an idiot. Juventus score 2 goals and hit a post and City didn’t do anything. Pellegrini is senile.
