Frosinone‘s Roberto Stellone managed to find some positives in his side’s 2-0 loss against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

The Biancocelesti were held goalless for much of the game until scoring in the 79th minute and then again in stoppage time.

Stellone praised Lazio’s efforts, but was quick to point out how well his side played prior to the goal.

“We regret losing 2-0, but not for performance,” Stellone told his press conference after the game.

“Lazio did better in the first half in terms of dribbling and scoring chances, but we could have done better on the counterattack.”

Frosinone put up a stern defensive performance against a quality effort from Lazio in the first half then came out in the second trying to win it all, creating the better chances prior to Lazio winger Keita Balde Diao scoring the opening goal.

“In the second half we took the ball and had chances to score,” said Stellone.

“We are satisfied with the performance but not the result.

“I want to also point out that we have already met the big three: Juventus, Roma and Lazio. We believe we will be safe. Now we have to work to prove we have what it takes to stay in Serie A.”
