Dybala Juventus AtalantaJuventus defeated Atalanta 2-0 at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday afternoon, claiming just their third Serie A win so far this season.

Paulo Dybala put the Old Lady ahead before Mario Mandzukic swiftly got their second in the second half. The game was made worse for the visitors when Rafael Toloi was sent off, although Paul Pogba failed to convert a penalty soon afterwards.

Juventus dominated possession in the early moments of the match and it was inevitable that they would grab a goal, with Paulo Dybala doing just that before the half-hour mark with a fantastic strike from outside the box curving at the right time to make for a near impossible task for Marco Sportiello to clear it in the away goal.

Their lead was almost doubled on the stroke of half-time when some excellent teamwork ended with Dybala drilling an effort towards goal but Sportiello was in the right place at the right time to deny what would have been a brilliant strike.

The second half began in much the same way as the first with the only difference being, with less than five minutes gone, Mario Mandzukic grabbing the Bianconeri’s second when he tapped in a Dybala cross.

La Dea’s afternoon only got worse with Brazilian international Rafael Toloi being shown a second yellow card for an unnecessary foul with 15 minutes to go to make the final stages of the match even more difficult for 10-men Atalanta.

It looked to be all but won for Juventus when Gabriel Paletta tripped up Dybala in the box but Sportiello’s afternoon took a turn for the better as he saved Paul Pogba’s effort.

The victory for Massimiliano Allegri’s men takes them up to 12th in the league table, while Atalanta are in ninth.
