The Orobici fought back from one goal down to win 2-1 on against the Biancocelesti and despite Reja admitting their opponents played better in the opening 45 minutes, he thinks the desire from Atalanta earned them the three points.
“In the first half Lazio played better and deservedly went ahead,” he told reporters after the game.
“In the second half Atalanta showed its big heart and started going forward.
“We tried to win until the end and there is great satisfaction among us.”
He then praised midfielder Maximiliano Moralez who, along with Mauricio Pinilla, he believes makes Atalanta a strong attacking force.
“We put Maxi Moralez and Pinilla forward and then started to create some problems,” he said.
“With Moralez playing behind the front line we were more attacking.”
The victory means Reja’s men move up to 7th in Serie A.
