Jan Vertonghen TottenhamJan Vertonghen has emerged as a target for Inter as they look to add the Tottenham Hotspur player to their squad in January.

The Belgian’s brilliant displays for Spurs this season has caught the attention of the Milanese giants who are aiming to strengthen their rearguard.

According to the Daily Star, the 28-year-old is on a short-list of players that Inter are interested in signing.

This is despite the fact that Vertonghen signed a new contract with Spurs ahead of the current campaign.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio reportedly spent two days in London last week scouting players, which included watching Vertonghen play for Tottenham in the Europa League against Anderlecht.

The former Ajax player has notched up a total of 101 appearances while scoring five goals for the London based side.
