Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez has denied rumours that he could make a January move to Premier League side Liverpool and has thanked the club’s hierarchy and fans for the faith they have recently put in him.
Suarez scored his first goal for the Viola during a 4-1 win against Frosinone and he is delighted to have made it into Paulo Sousa’s starting XI. “I am extremely grateful to the club,” Suarez told reporters after the game.
“I’m especially thankful towards the Della Valle brothers and [Fiorentina sporting director, Daniele] Prade, as well as the fans who shown their confidence in me.
“Today the coach decided to use me and I’m glad for both for myself and for the team.
“I’m staying here, I’m very happy at Fiorentina,” he concluded.
