Fiorentina defender looking ahead to Juventus game after Udinese win

CVjbqywWcAA7bR6Fiorentina defender Gonzalo Rodriguez is pleased with the team’s win over Udinese after their recent form and is happy with the club’s current position in Serie A.

La Viola claimed a 3-0 victory at home to the Zebrette which put an end to the away side’s three-match winning streak and Rodriguez is already looking ahead to next week’s match against Juventus.

“Udinese had won three games in a row before the match,” Rodriguez told Premium Sport.

“We knew it would be a difficult match but the important thing is to win these games at home.”

Thanks to the three points, Paulo Sousa’s men are in second place in the Serie A table, just one point off leaders Inter, ahead of their trip to Juventus next weekend.

“It’s nice to be above Juventus when play them on Sunday,” Rodriguez added.

“We have a tough match against Juventus but we want to win it.”

Rodriguez got one of the goals against Udinese, while teammate Nikola Kalinic found himself in a lucky position for the opener and Rodriguez praised his general performances for the team.

“He is very strong and is very important for us,” the 31-year-old concluded.

Fiorentina host Belenenses on December 10 in the Europa League in their next game before the trip to Turin on December 13.
