marco-parolo-lorenzo-de-silvestri-lazio-sampdoria-serie-a_cz7z3kgvlsrl1qfacgquhvv2mLazio midfielder Marco Parolo has cited the 2-1 victory over Inter before the winter break as a potential turning point in his side’s season.

The capital club ended a seven-game winless stretch in the league with a win at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, though Parolo believed that the Biancocelesti’s performances preceding that win merited more.

“In the last month, with the exception of the game against Palermo, we played well without getting the right results,” Parolo told Lazio Style Radio.

“Thankfully, we progressed in the Coppa Italia and then at the San Siro we gave a gift to our fans.

“It changed our mentality in dealing with things in difficult times.

“There was a confrontation between us and we showed the desire to end this situation.”

The side were jeered off after the 1-1 draw with Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico at the beginning of the month, but the midfielder believes the growing discontent among the Biancocelesti faithful is understandable.

“The boos of the fans were justified, but we always notice the support and passion of our supporters,” added Parolo.
