Denis Atalanta PalermoAtalanta coach Edoardo Reja wants to wait until January before assessing his side’s success so far this season after his side beat Palermo 3-0.

The coach also spoke about the situation of Palermo’s coaches, saying he was surprised when Giuseppe Iachini was sacked earlier in the season.

“Let’s finish the first half of the season then we can evaluate our work,” Reja told Sky Sport.

“Being this high up in the table is obviously a good thing.

“We work calmly and are happy about our work from a tactical and physical point of view.

“Today we were good when it came to scoring goals.”

Reja then refused to speak about Davide Ballardini, the current Palermo coach, who is reportedly under pressure following the defeat to Atalanta.

“I will not talk about Ballardini,” Reja added.

“I was saddened when I heard Iachini had been sacked, I was surprised.

“Palermo were doing well and even today I saw some quality in their side.”
