Chelsea are reportedly close to completing a January move for former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato.
The Corinthian’s forward has already once revealed his desire to return to Europe, and his wish may now be granted after the London outfit agreed a €10 million transfer fee with the Brazilian side.
Calcionews24.com have confirmed the deal between the two parties, claiming that only minor details are needed before the switch can be completed
Liverpool and Arsenal had already shown a genuine interest in the player, although it now seems their Premier League rivals have defeated them in the race to obtain his signature.
Furthermore, The Telegraph have revealed that Pato has held discussions with Chelsea players Willian and Marco Amelia in a bid to express his interest in the move and also find out more about the club.
The potential move is even more likely due to the fact that the 26-year-old is willing to take a big pay-cut as he aims to finalise a transfer to Guus Hiddink’s side.
