Mauro Zarate LazioMauro Zarate has his sights set on the top of Serie A following his switch to Fiorentina from English side West Ham United.

The Argentinian has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Viola and is already impressed with his surroundings since having arrived in Florence.

“I like everything, I have a great team here,” the 28-year-old told Fiorentina’s official website.

“Everything is beautiful here, there is a healthy group of quality players and great people.

“I was impressed by the way they play with the ball at their feet, with so much possession and attacking play.

“Now it’s up to us to prove we can get to the top [of Serie A].”

The former Lazio forward arrives at the Stadio Artemio Franchi at the same time that Giuseppe Rossi departs for Levante, with Paulo Sousa looking to build upon his attacking assets.

Zarate previously spent five seasons in Serie A with Lazio in addition to a brief loan spell with Inter.
