Rossi explains difficult decision to leave Fiorentina

Rossi FiorentinaAs Giuseppe Rossi nears his departure from Fiorentina, the striker has expressed his bitter disappointment about having not managed to reward the Viola fans who have previously supported him.

With his transfer to Spanish side Levante close to completion, the 28-year-old has revealed he has given his utmost to obtain more playing time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, although he now feels the need to leave the club in a bid to regain his footballing and personal happiness.

“Firstly, I am regretful because I had a score to settle with the Viola fans,” said Rossi on his official Twitter page. “I had given my maximum in all of my rehabilitation and training, as I wanted to continue playing and gift you positive emotions on the field.

“But it is hard to do so when chances are limited and inconsistent. Football is life for me and if I do not leave then I will never be happy.”

He continued: “I hope that the Viola fans can understand my desire to rediscover my smile,” he added. “I will always keep the Viola in my heart and I cannot ever forget the goosebumps that you gave me on Sundays. ”
