The Partenopei finished the first half of the season as winter champions with 41 points from 19 games and their 5-1 victory away at Frosinone last Sunday was their fourth league win in a row.

The Neroverdi are enjoying an impressive campaign themselves and they are sixth in the Serie A table with 31 points and one game in hand.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s team had a part to play in Napoli sealing top spot when they defeated Inter 1-0 in Milan in Sunday’s lunchtime game.

The Neroverdi also have not lost a game since losing 2-1 away to Genoa in gameweek 13.

Napoli lost 2-1 to Sassuolo when these teams faced each other on the opening day of the 2015-16 season.

Marek Hamsik opened the scoring in Maurizio Sarri’s league debut with the Partenopei but Antonio Floro Flores and Nicola Sansone completed a comeback win for Di Francesco’s side.

Since then, Napoli have only lost one match in all competitions, when they were surprisingly defeated 3-2 by Bologna in early December.

The Partenopei defeated the Neroverdi on both occasions in the 2014-15 season, winning 1-0 in Reggio-Emilia and then 2-0 in Naples.

Sarri has a full strength squad to choose from.

After the Frosinone victory, he is expected to bring back Faouzi Ghoulam for Ivan Strinic at left-back and Lorenzo Insigne for Dries Mertens on the left wing.

Di Francesco will be forced to make two significant changes to his starting line-up.

Centre-back Paolo Cannavaro and right-winger Domenico Berardi are unavailable after picking up yellow cards against Inter and they will be replaced by Lorenzo Ariaudo and Floro Flores respectively.
