Udinese - LazioUdinese held Lazio to a goal-less draw at the Stadio Friuli in their Sunday afternoon Serie A encounter.

Neither side were able to break the deadlock over the 90 minutes with both teams reduced to ten men.

The Zebrette seemed to benefit from the home support, having the majority of the chances in the first half. An early opportunity presented itself for Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, but the Ghanaian had his shot closed down. The hosts then had the ball in the back of the net, but Edenilson was adjudged to have strayed offside in the build up.

Molla Wague was then found excellently in the box from a Guilherme free kick, but the defender couldn’t direct his towering header on target. The half ended poorly for Udinese, a goal-mouth scramble involving Antonio Candreva and Filip Djordjevic was eventually ended by keeper Orestis Karnezis.

Danilo was then shown a second yellow card, leaving the field having only just returned from a red card suspension for the home saide. Lazio ended the half with one final chance, a header across the face of goal from Mauricio was met by Abdoulay Konko, but he skied his shot over.

Substitute striker Alessandro Matri had two goals ruled out early in the second half, firstly when he chipped Karnezis and then a header from six yards; both times he was offside. Keita Balde then came close with a powerful effort from the left wing, but his shot fizzed past the far post.

Both sides would finish the game with ten men, the referee showing Matri a straight red card for his protests.

Udinese continue to slip down the Serie A table, while Lazio have lost further ground in the race for European football
