Juventus have had a bid for Bari midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli rejected by the club as they search for another new midfielder.

The Bianconeri have already snapped up Italy Under-21 player Stefano Sensi from Cesena and Genoa‘s Rolando Mandrake this January, and the next name on their list was 18-year-old Castrovilli.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals, however, that Castrovilli will not be part of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for this season as the Serie B club have rejected their offer.

It is expected that negotiations will reopen in the summer transfer window.

Castrovilli made his first senior appearance for Bari after moving up from their youth squad in a 12-minute cameo against Spezia in May last year.

He has gone onto be a prominent member of the Bari Primavera side, though, and has four goals so far this season, including one last weekend against Lazio‘s Primavera aside.
