US Citta di Palermo v Udinese Calcio - Serie APalermo host Bologna at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Sunday as they continue their to struggle to stay above the relegation zone.

The Rosanero currently sit 15th in the table, just one point clear of Sampdoria and three points above regulation. They will hope the side can improve under the returned guidance of Giuseppe Iachini, as the Rosanero suffered due to a lack of consistent leadership throughout the season.

Giuseppe Iachini’s side will look to regain some of their confidence; having only managed to take two points from their last five fixtures, which included a 5-0 thrashing by Roma, a 3-1 defeat to Torino, and a 2-0 home defeat to AC Milan.

The team also  managed a hard-fought 2-2 away draw with Sassuolo, and a scrappy 1-1 against Capri.

Bologna on the other hand, have more mixed results, taking eight points from their past five fixtures, most notably, stopping the Juventus juggernaut’s winning streak with a 0-0 draw.

Prior to their draw, Bologna earned a 1-0 away victory over Udinese, a 3-1 victory over Sampdoria, a draw with Fiorentina, and a disappointing loss to Frosinone.

Palermo have historically been the better of the two teams, having won seven of their 13 previous encounters, while drawing three times and only allowing the Rossoblu to get the better of them three times.

The Rosanero won their most recent head-to-head fixture with a 1-0 victory back in October.

Palermo will be without keeper Stefano Sorrentino who is still suffering from a muscle injury, as well as defender Edoardo Goldaniga.

Roberto Donadoni’s side will be without defender Luca Rossettini. Both midfielder Saphir Taider along with forward Mattia Destro, who has earned nine yellow cards in just 24 performances, are at risk for suspensions.
