giaccheriniBologna midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini’s agent has revealed the Italian will return to parent club Sunderland AFC come the end of the season.

Currently on loan from the Black Cats, Giaccherini has been a sensation for Bologna, helping them find their way back to form after a disappointing start to the season, however, he will not be sticking around come the summer.

“One thing is for certain, Giaccherini will go back to Sunderland,” Furio Valcareggi, the 30-year-old’s agent, told TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

“The deal with Bologna is just a simple loan.

“He still has one year remaining with the English club, who will evaluate his position.”

Whilst the news comes as a huge blow to the fans who would have hoped to see the former Juventus man stay, Valcareggi refuses to rule out a return to the Felsenei in the near future.

“Emanuele is very happy in Bologna and the club are in turn very happy with him,” he continued.

“They will have to make an offer to Sunderland if they want him to stay.

“We will see.”
