Fabrizio Castori CarpiCarpi coach Fabrizio Castori is proud of his side after their crucial victory against Frosinone.

The Biancorossi emerged as 2-1 victors in Sunday’s relegation dogfight and Castori attributed the victory to the positive morale surrounding the club.

“Without team spirit we would not have been able to achieve victory today,” Castori told Rai Sport.

“It was very cold this afternoon but the players performed admirably.”

Jonathan De Guzman made his first appearance for the club since joining on loan from Napoli and scored the match winner from the penalty spot shortly after his introduction.

“De Guzman has recovered from injury and feels good, I am happy that he was able to make an immediate impact,” the 61-year-old said.

The victory brings Carpi to within two points of Serie A safety and Castori maintains that his side have the will power to stave off relegation.

“We are a united team and are hungry to remain in the championship,” the coach concluded.
