Atalanta coach Edoardo Reja was critical of referee Marco Di Bello in their 2-1 defeat to Torino at the Stadio Olimpico.
Bruno Peres opened the score for the Granata before striker Maxi Lopez scored within seconds of the second half beginning.
“It’s a shame we conceded so soon after the second half started but we kept fighting right to the end,” Reja told RaiSport post match.
Luca Cigarini gave the Bergamo club a lifeline with a brilliantly taken free kick but it became nothing more than a consolation.
“We had many of our own opportunities and we were relatively strong at the back, but we only came alive in the dying minutes,” Reja admitted.
Marten de Roon was shown a second yellow card in the dying minutes to make their chances of equalising all but impossible.
“We were just too naive and the referee [Marco] Di Bello was too eager in brandishing cards,” Reja concluded his interview.
