Bologna boss Roberto Donadoni expresses his delight at his team’s performance in their win over Genoa.

The hosts went ahead in the first half through Emmanuel Giaccherini before Sergio Floccari doubled in the second half.

“After the defeat to Napoli we approached the match differently, we have to build and grow,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.

“Today the players redeemed themselves, we are a team who, when we are at our best, we can cause any team problems.”

This was Bologna’s first win since February, their poor run coinciding with speculation regarding Donadoni’s future.

“I thank the fans for their support, but the credit goes to the players, we have come back from a difficult situation,” Donadoni added.

Donadoni remains one of the favourites to replace Antonio Conte as head coach of the Italian national team.

“We want to remain in Serie A and we are just missing the mathematical safety, we will fight to the end,” Donadoni concluded.

Victory moves Bologna up three places, going ahead of Atalanta, Udinese and Sampdoria to 13th.
