Maran: It’s difficult to play against Roma when they’re on form

Chievo coach Rolando Maran has praised Luciano Spalletti’s Roma after the Mussi Volanti lost 3-0 to the Giallorossi on Sunday afternoon.

The Gialloblu were dismantled as I Lupi dominated the match limiting to Chievo to a few half-chances from range.

“Roma are such a strong team and it’s difficult to play them when they perform like they did today.” said Maran to Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“They were excellent today and scored three very good goals. However, despite the result today this has been a good season for us. Our target was to survive relegation this season but we could finish in the top 10.

“We have shown on the pitch this season that we are a great team, who are prepared to work hard and we deserve a lot of credit. We have one more game left this season and we need to maintain our position.”

Maran also praised Francesco Totti, who produced a magnificent assist to provide Roma’s third goal.

“Totti is an amazing player and I hope he gets a new contract, he deserves it. ”
