After leaving AC Milan at the end of last season, Cristian Brocchi has been announced as the new coach of Serie B side Brescia.

The 40-year-old took over at the Rossoneri following the departure of Sinisa Mihajlovic but was only contracted until the end of the 2015/16 campaign, and he has since been replaced by Vincenzo Montella.

According to milannews.it, Brocchi has moved on to Brescia, taking assistant coach Alessandro Lazzarini and athletic trainer Pietro Lietti with him, signing a one-year contract worth €130,000.

Brescia had been relegated to the Lega Pro at the end of the 2014/15 season, however were readmitted into Serie B following the bankruptcy of Parma, and they came 11th last year.

Brocchi took charge of seven Milan games last season and claimed a 1-0 victory in his first game away to Sampdoria, however his side lost three of their next six games and finished in seventh.
