Inter fans want Icardi stripped of captaincy

Recent claims from Mauro Icardi’s wife, Wanda Nara, appear to have upset a number of Inter fans, with supporters of the Biscione now wanting the Argentine removed from his role as club captain.

Nara publicly stated that both Napoli and Juventus were keen to sign her husband, and that he would have his pick of clubs were it not for his loyalty to the Nerazzurri shirt.

In a poll run by passioneinter.com, 80 per cent of those who voted want the 23-year-old stripped of the armband, following his partner’s latest outburst.

Nara has been extremely outspoken about her husband’s position at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side this summer, already making a claim that the forward was being forced out of the club in order to raise funds.

Icardi moved to the San Siro in 2013 from fellow Serie A side Sampdoria, and has since gone on to find the net 52 times in 104 appearances for the club.
