AC Milan have moved quickly to secure the deal for Gustavo Gomez from Club Atletico Lanus as the player arrived in Italy for medical tests.

After failing to reach an agreement with Villarreal for Mateo Musacchio, Milan turned their attention to 23-year-old Gomez, who will become their third summer transfer after Leonel Vangioni and Gianluca Lapadula.

According to Milannews, the player will sign a five-year contract with the Rossoneri, who will pay Lanus €8 million.

The Paraguayan international is not an unfamiliar name for Milan’s coach, Vincenzo Montella, who had previously scouted the player during his time at Fiorentina.

Gomez started his career with Club Libertad in Paraguay before moving to Lanus in 2014 for €2.25 million, and went on to appear in over 60 matches in two years for the recent Argentine champions.

He is also a member of Paraguayan national team, for whom he has featured in 16 matches, scoring two goals.
