Atalanta goalkeeper edges closer to Napoli transfer

sportiello atalantaNapoli‘s summer transfer market is becoming increasingly busy as they close in on the signing of Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.

The Partenopei completed the a deal for striker Arkadiusz Milik just this week and now another signing looks set to be finalised soon.

According to GazzaMercato, the Partenopei will spend €6 million on the 25-year-old, who will sign a five-year contract worth €800,000 per annum, which is a small increase on a bid previously reported to be worth €5m.

Sportiello was part of La Dea’s youth network between 1999 and 2010 before joining a couple of lower league sides in Italy and then moving to Carpi.

He returned to Atalanta in 2013 and has since played 78 times in all competitions, keeping 22 clean sheets overall, and he appeared in all but two of his club’s league matches last season.
