Juventus could secure the services of Wolfsburg man Luiz Gustavo for free, as long as striker Simone Zaza agrees to move to Germany.

The Italian international had previously rejected the chance to join Die Wolfe in favour of staying in Italy, before giving his consent to an AC Milan switch, but the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain in Turin could mean Zaza has to leave just to find playing time.

According to Tuttosport, Zaza’s desire to stay in Serie A is still strong, but the Bianconeri could receive Gustavo without any financial repercussions if he left.

It would potentially be more of a favourable offer for the reigning Italian champions than a previous bid for Gustavo, worth €20 million at the end of a loan spell.

La Vecchia Signora need the midfield reinforcements after Claudio Marchisio was ruled out until Christmas, while Paul Pogba is set to join Manchester United.
