Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini will be feeling the love as Jose Mourinho wasted no time in praising the Italian, having started their Serie A campaign with a win over Fiorentina.
The new Roma boss reserved some kind words for the 25-year-old Azzurri midfielder ahead of Thursday night’s UEFA Conference League second leg qualifier against Trabzonspor.
“If I had three Pellegrini’s I’d play them all,” Mourinho said. “He’s very smart and knows what I want.
“He’s very clever and understands the game really well.”
The Serie A side lead 2-1 from the first leg, thanks to goals from Pellegrini himself and new signing Eldor Shomurodov, with a place in the newly formed tournament proper at stake.
