The fine work that Stefano Pioli has done with AC Milan is likely to be rewarded, with the Rossoneri close to renewing the coach’s contract at the Stadio San Siro.

Since taking charge of Milan, Pioli has performed above all expectations. He guided the side to finish second in Serie A in 2020/21, and has the Rossoneri alongside Napoli as league leaders so far this term, still unbeaten domestically after 11 rounds of fixtures.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are keen to renew his contract. The club will offer him a two-year extension worth €2 million per year, plus bonuses.

The pink paper believe the talks to be at an advanced stage between the two parties, and there is confidence on both sides that a deal will be concluded soon.

Pioli and Milan face their biggest test of the Serie A season so far on Sunday, hosting Inter in the Derby della Madonnina at 20:45 CET.
