Lens-600190Serie A side Roma are considering a move for Sunderland winger Jeremain Lens, as new coach Luciano Spalletti aims to bolster his offensive line-up.

The Giallorossi are keen on making some additions to their squad during the January transfer window, as Gervinho and Seydou Doumbia have been increasingly linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma’s primary target is the much-discussed Genoa winger, Diego Perotti, but Lens is now being considered as the first alternative to the Argentinian.

The 28-year-old could possibly represent the Giallorossi’s second signing of this transfer window, after Stephan El Shaarawy’s switch from AC Milan grows ever closer.

Lens has made 15 Premier League appearances for Sunderland since his arrival last July, scoring two goals in the process.
