Menez AC MilanWith the side dropping points in recent weeks, new AC Milan coach Cristian Brocchi believes his side have to improve against lesser teams in Serie A.

After a bright start to 2016, Milan have slipped away from the pace and are now in real danger of missing out of European football for yet another season.

“It is something that we have been working on, improving our mental approach in these kinds of games against the lesser teams,” Brocchi told reporters ahead of playing against Hellas Verona. “We need to start the game with more aggression and send out a signal to our opponents.

“Not only our opponents but we also want to send a message to our fans who are always watching us and are behind us. One of the objectives I have is to give confidence and to the team as the players need it.

“We haven’t had much time to work on this but I believe we are picking things up in this respect.”

Milan take on Verona after drawing against them earlier in the season and failing to beat Carpi in midweek.
